How Sonorant VR2L Media Albums Work
Sonorant VR2L Media Albums (patent pending) are “rich media” packages that stream MP3 audio files using our proprietary delivery system. Albums contain not only the means to stream audio files, but text notecards with “liner notes,” website links to artists’s websites, and in-world Landmarks to artist-related areas in Second Life. Many albums include links to free real-world digital downloads (available only to owners).
Sonorant VR2L Media Albums allow residents to listen to streaming audio and, soon, to watch video in-world. Albums are designed to share the listening experience with friends and community. To this end, audio streams can be heard throughout the parcel where the Album and it’s controlling Player are located.
Album owners can choose to allow Album play access to a selected Group, to All, or to limit access to Owner.
Content Owners
Sonorant VR2L Media Albums also allow content owners of all kinds of media to provide that content to an international base via Second Life® without losing rights or granting licenses to anyone in-world. Sonorant VR2L Media Albums not only securely stream media files, but allow for the digital download of all types of document, graphic, text, movie and interactive media files.
Playing Your Album is as Easy as 1-2-3!
First time users (repeat users see below):
1 - ACTIVATE THE GROUP that you wish to have play access (this does not need to be the land-owning Group on group-owned land).
HINT: You can grant access to a different Group for each Album
2 - REZ THE PLAYER
-
On individually-owned land, have the land-owner rez the Player
-
On group-owned land, rez the Player and Deed it to the
land-owning group (TIP: Don't know how to Deed objects?
Go to our Support Center: How to Deed objects)
If a Player is already rezzed on a parcel, you will not need to rez another one to play an Album. Only the Album will need to be rezzed.
3 - REZ THE ALBUM. That's it! You're ready to listen to your Album.
Click on the Album once to see the blue navigation menu.
HINT: On group-owned land, only group officers can delete a Deeded object. Either click the "Allow anyone to move" option in the Edit menu, or, better yet, place it somewhere out-of-the way before Deeding.
REMEMBER: You can always get another Player if you leave the group to which it was Deeded, or if you need a new Player for any reason. Simply select Options from the menu, and click the Get Player button.
Invite friends over to have a listening party (everyone will hear the same audio file simultaneously with little or no delay),have a dance party, or listen to your favorite audio book or teachings.
Remember to set Access to Group or All through the Options menu.
Repeat users:
If a Player is already rezzed on the parcel, all you need to do is:
1 - ACTIVATE THE GROUP that you wish to have play access to this Album.
HINT: You can grant access to a different Group for each Album
2 - REZ THE ALBUM. That's it! You're ready to listen to your Album.
Click on the Album once to see the blue navigation menu.
HINT: Althought you can have more than one Album rezzed at a time, you might find it confusing to navigate through the menus. We recommend that you rez only one Album at a time.
